Our Programs


As per district-level household survey 2016-17 and 2017-18 in the district of Kalaburagi in Karnataka, Out of 411, 35 girl children were married off.

To address the above major challenge Margadarshi Society implemented a project called CHILDLINE -1098 with the following major objectives.

Ø  Protecting Children from runaway, child labor, and from all children related abuses.

Ø  Prevention of child marriage.

Ø  Trace missing children.

Towards this, Margadarshi society works closely with district/ taluka level administration, panchayat raj and local community through training & awareness programs, rallies, street plays, public, regarding the dangers of trafficking, physical and sexual abuse, child marriage and its prevention.

 Through these efforts, Margadarshi Society has rescued more than 3,400 children out of a total of 16,000 calls received. Abuse-related - 580; providing shelter facility 585; medical assistance 150; identifying missing children 290; restoration to home 875; linked to the scholarship for education 215; provide emotional support and counseling 345, and other interventions more than 180. With the efforts of the Margadarshi Society, child marriage were reduced to 50%.

As an independent survey conducted by our Margadarshi Society and based on an available survey, Kalaburagi district has the highest number of dropouts with more than 3000 children and more than 1500 children enrolled back to school.

Prevention of the Child Dropping out of School, Child Labour, and Malnutrition project has the following objectives,

   Ø  Prevention and Protection of Children from Dropping out of School and Becoming Child Labourers.

    Ø  Ensuring effective functioning of child protection systems under ICPS in the intervention areas

     Ø  Ensuring universal access to quality education for all children between the ages of 6 to 18.


To accomplish these objectives team members of the Margadarshi Society worked closely with children and parents. “Shaale Kade Nanna Nade”, “Daakhalati Andholana” rally has been carried out in the operational area in collaboration with GP, SDMC, Education Dept., CDPO, and PRI.

Through these efforts of the Margadarshi Society 478 Dropouts, 160 Child Labours, 123 Never Enrolled, and 761 Irregular Children are enrolled back to the Schools in 5 Villages of Chittapur Taluk, in Kalaburagi District

Margadarshi Society works bringing smiles, for more than 8000 marginalized children. The current operating annual budget of Margadarshi society 99 lakhs with 48 staff, over the period we had the privilege to partner with CHILDLINE India Foundation; Child Rights and You.

Margadarshi Society is governed by 11 board members and compliant about 80G, 12A, FCRA, Darpan, PAN, TAN certifications.

Margadarshi Society was awarded for Child welfare works by Karnataka Govt. under Women and Child Welfare Department in November 2016.
